Subhash Ghai recently announced the much-anticipated sequel to the 2004 blockbuster Aitraaz, with OMG 2 director Amit Rai set to helm the project. The original film, starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Priyanka Chopra, was a massive hit and garnered critical acclaim. However, Ghai has confirmed that Priyanka Chopra, who delivered a career-defining performance in the original, will not reprise her role in Aitraaz 2.

Speaking at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Ghai revealed that the sequel would feature a new generation of actors. “It has been 20 years since the release of Aitraaz. To resonate with today’s audience, we need fresh faces and a modern take,” he shared.
