A Unique Twist to Heist Stories
Some films revolve around theft, while others delve into the thief’s journey. Sikandar Ka Muqaddar is one such gripping narrative, offering a blend of investigation, suspense, and thrill. Featuring Tamannaah Bhatia and Avinash Tiwari in lead roles, this Netflix original is set to release on November 29, 2024. In an exclusive chat with Jagran, the actors shared insights about the film, OTT platforms, and their connection to Lucknow.
Tamannaah on the Title of the Film
When asked if the film’s name draws inspiration from the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan classic Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Tamannaah clarified, “That film and this one are entirely different. The title will make perfect sense once you watch the film. Sikandar is the name of Avinash’s character, and the story revolves around his journey.”
A Thrilling Heist with a Twist
The story begins with the theft of a diamond worth ₹60 crores but quickly evolves into a riveting narrative. Tamannaah teased, “This isn’t just about the heist. The story goes far beyond it, pulling you into a web of suspense and thrill. Once you start watching, you won’t want to stop until the very end.”
What Do the Stars Watch on OTT?
Tamannaah revealed her personal OTT habits: “I usually watch movies while eating. If I enjoy them, I watch them till the end; if not, I turn them off in 15-20 minutes.”
Avinash on OTT’s Global Reach
Avinash emphasized the vast reach of OTT platforms compared to cinemas. “While big films in theaters are released in a few thousand screens, OTT platforms showcase films in over 200 countries. Often, movies ignored in theaters find an audience abroad through OTT. I hope in the next few years, Indian stories will reach even more global viewers.”
Tamannaah’s Love for Lucknow Delights
When introduced to Lucknow’s culinary treasures—Sharma’s samosas, Shukla’s chaat, Bajpayee’s kachoris, and Chowk’s makhan malai—Tamannaah expressed excitement. “I’ll make sure to taste all of them. I’m especially looking forward to trying makhan malai during a morning visit to Chowk.”
