Rajinikanth is a name that hardly anyone knows. Well to say, Rajinikanth is considered to be a superstar of South films, but its fame is world famous. This actor needs no introduction. The full name of this world famous superstar is ‘Shivaji Rao Gaikwad’.
Early life –
Rajinikanth was born on 12 December 1950 in a Marathi family in Bangalore, Karnataka state. His father’s name was Ramoji Rao Gaikwad and mother’s name was Ramabai. Rajinikanth is the youngest of four siblings. Father was a police constable in Bangalore and mother was a housewife. Rajinikanth was named Shivaji Rao after the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji. His ancestors were from Mavdi hard stone, a village located near Jejuri in present-day Pune. When Rajinikanth was five years old, his mother died.
Education –
He got his early education from Gavipuram Government Kannada Modern Primary School. Then Rajinikanth was very interested in his studies. Since childhood, he also had a lot of pull towards spirituality. Due to which the rest of his education was completed in ‘Ramakrishna Math’. This Math was operated by the “Ramakrishna Mission”. Since childhood, Rajinikanth used to take part in cultural programs in monasteries due to his special interest in art. While participating in such programs, his interest in the field of art became deep. After this he did his studies from Acharya Pathshala Public School. Even during his studies, Rajinikanth used to participate in plays etc. in school.

Scope –
After completing his studies, Rajinikanth started his life as a carpenter. He also worked as a porter and during this time he got recruited in Bangalore Transport Service and he got success in it. In this they are B.T. became a conductor. Rajinikanth got financial success from the conductor’s job but he probably did not get the right place. Even during his job as a conductor, he remained interested in acting and art. He continued to participate in plays and stage shows etc. This was the reason that his working style was different from the rest of his colleagues. It is said that his style was unique. He used to talk to the bus passengers in a different way, play the city and cut the ticket. This style of his was very much liked by the passengers and colleagues.
Film career-
Rajinikanth enrolled in “Madras Film Institute” in 1973 to get a diploma in acting. In this institute, he got the opportunity to take his first step in the field of acting or in the film world. During a play in the same institute, film director K. Balachander’s eyes fell on him. Balachander was one of the most famous directors of that time. Balachander was very impressed with Rajinikanth’s acting and he also offered Rajinikanth a role in his film. Rajinikanth immediately accepted this offer. Apoorva Ragangal was Rajinikanth’s first film. Although Rajinikanth’s character in this film was very small, but his performance attracted everyone’s attention. This was the beginning of Rajinikanth’s journey. After this Balachander ji advised him to learn Tamil language and Rajinikanth also showed interest in learning it.

Personal life –
Actor Rajinikanth married Latha Rangachari on 24 February 1981 in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Latha was a student of Ethiraj College and she had gone to interview Rajinikanth for her college magazine. In the very first meeting, he proposed to Lata and then got married. Rajinikanth has two daughters Aishwarya and Soundarya. His wife Lata runs a school named ‘The Ashram’. Daughter Aishwarya got married on 18 November 2004 with actor Dhanush. While the younger daughter Soundarya is a producer and director in the Tamil film world and Soundarya married industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar on 3 September 2010.
The personality –
Despite being such a big superstar, Rajinikanth leads a normal life. This is the reason why fans worship him. His popularity can be gauged from the fact that a special temple has been built by his fans in the south.
