Bollywood and South Indian cinema’s biggest stars are coming together for Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious film Ramayana. One of the most talked-about castings is KGF star Yash, who will be portraying the mighty Ravana. Interestingly, Yash is not only playing the powerful antagonist but is also co-producing the film.
Why Did Yash Insist on Playing Ravana?
For months, speculation surrounded Yash’s involvement in Ramayana. A few months ago, the superstar finally confirmed his role, and now he has revealed why he was only interested in playing Ravana.
In a conversation with India Today, Yash shared, “It is a very fascinating character. I don’t do it for any other reason. If you ask me if I want to play any other character in Ramayana, probably not. For me, playing the character of Ravana is the most exciting as an actor. I like the shades and nuances of this particular character. There is a lot of scope to present this character in a different way.”
The actor has already started preparing for the role and is currently shooting his scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in Mumbai.

When Will Ramayana Release?
Nitesh Tiwari is directing Ramayana in two parts. The first installment is set to release on Diwali 2025, while the second part will hit theaters on Diwali 2027. The grand film is produced by Namit Malhotra and stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Mata Sita. Reports suggest that Sunny Deol will play Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey might be cast as Laxman.
Yash’s Next Big Film – Toxic
Apart from Ramayana, Yash is also working on another highly anticipated project, Toxic. The film is rumored to feature a stellar cast, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sai Pallavi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Dhananjay.
With Ramayana and Toxic, Yash is all set to dominate the big screen once again.
