Mohammad Faiz had contest with himself

Conversing with Bombay Times, Faiz discussed his triumph and told that, he was not rivaling others but rather with himself. He said, “I never pondered the opposition or the finale. For me we were completely centered exclusively around learning music and performing, we never sang to contend with one another. As a matter of fact I was contending with myself. Each time I needed to show improvement over the past one. So I was simply dealing with my abilities, since I needed to beat myself like clockwork, rather than perceiving how others were singing.”
