Story of the movie ‘Shaakuntalam’

It is inspired by the legend of King Dushyanta and Shakuntala and derived from the Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam by the great poet Kalidasa. In the film, Samantha played the role of Shakuntala, daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra. Produced and directed by Gunasekhar, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.
