Akshay Kumar is set to bring a new dose of comedy with his upcoming film Khel Khel Mein, releasing on August 15th. The trailer has received a positive response from fans, but there’s still some concern about how the film will perform at the box office, especially since Akshay hasn’t had a hit in a while. Adding to the uncertainty is the fact that Khel Khel Mein is set to clash with Stree 2, which could impact its earnings.

However, there’s hope for Akshay’s fans as the film is predicted to surpass the opening day collection of his previous hit, OMG 2.

Early Ticket Sales and Box Office Predictions

According to Sacnilk, Khel Khel Mein has already sold 5,547 tickets, across 1,081 shows, grossing ₹22,60,809 so far. Koimoi reports suggest that the film could earn between ₹7-9 crores on its opening day.

A Look Back at Akshay Kumar’s Recent Box Office Performances

Akshay has been struggling to deliver a hit film for some time. His last release, Sarfira, flopped with a disappointing first-day collection of just ₹2.50 crores. Even his big-budget film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan underperformed, despite earning ₹16 crores on its first day. Mission Raniganj also failed to make an impact at the box office.

The only success for Akshay in recent years was OMG 2 in 2023, which grossed ₹150.17 crores in total and made ₹10.26 crores on its opening day. Other films like Selfie, Ram Setu, Rakshabandhan, Samrat Prithviraj, and Bachchan Pandey were also box office failures. Since 2022, Akshay has only had one hit, with his last major success being Suryavanshi in 2021.

As Khel Khel Mein gears up for release, all eyes are on whether Akshay Kumar can finally break his streak of flops and deliver a much-needed hit.
