Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and daughter of Shweta Bachchan, has made waves despite staying away from the film industry. With a strong fan base and her popular podcast What the Hell Navya? enjoying two successful seasons, Navya continues to pave her path. She recently took a major step by enrolling in the prestigious IIM Ahmedabad for her MBA and has joined her father Nikhil Nanda’s family business. But the big question remains – will she ever follow her family’s footsteps into acting?

Navya’s Clear Stance on Acting

Navya recently attended the India Today Mumbai Conclave 2024, where she candidly shared her thoughts about acting. Despite her maternal family’s deep roots in the entertainment industry, Navya revealed that she has no interest in pursuing an acting career. She stated, “No matter what background I come from, this is what I always wanted to do. I am grateful for all the opportunities that are my reality today. This is not a reality for many people in India. I never wanted to act.”

Her brother Agastya Nanda is set to make his Bollywood debut, while her grandparents have long been iconic figures in the film industry. Yet, Navya remains steadfast in her decision, emphasizing that her choice to not act has always been entirely her own.

Handling Trolls After IIM Ahmedabad Admission

Navya also addressed the criticism she faced after being accepted into IIM Ahmedabad. Speaking on how she deals with online trolling, she said, “I really don’t mind what people say. It is important for me to see the feedback; it will make me a better person, a better entrepreneur, and a better Indian.” Acknowledging her privileged background, she added, “People will always have something to say about it. However, I do not let negative comments derail my goals and ambitions. Instead, I use them to fuel my journey.”

Navya’s focus on her own path is a refreshing stance in a family so immersed in Bollywood, proving that she’s determined to carve out her own identity in the business world.
