The highly awaited second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show is set to make its return, streaming on Netflix from September 21, 2024. Kapil Sharma recently shared the show’s promo on Instagram, revealing a star-studded guest lineup for the first episode featuring Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, and Vedang Raina, promoting their film Jigra. Alongside Kapil, comedians Kiku Sharda, Sunil Grover, and Rajiv Thakur will also reprise their roles.
Rajiv Thakur, who gained attention for his portrayal of a terrorist in the web series IC 14: The Kandahar Hijack, is well-loved for his character Raju in Kapil’s show. However, fans have expressed their frustration over Rajiv’s limited screen time compared to other regulars like Krishna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda.
Addressing these concerns in a recent interview with ETimes, Rajiv lightheartedly commented, “I want to tell the streaming platform – listen, listen, this is a complaint, not praise, that I’m being underused! But don’t worry, this will be resolved in the upcoming episodes. My screen time may still be limited, but you’ll definitely see more of me.”
When asked about his upcoming projects, Rajiv hinted at exciting new ventures, saying, “Everyone is in an experimental phase right now. I’m working among many industry experts, and it’s a challenge to carve out a space for myself. But I’m making progress, and things will unfold slowly.”
Fans can look forward to seeing more of Rajiv as the new season premieres and he explores new creative avenues in the entertainment industry.
