
Akshay Kumar has teamed up once again with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for an exciting new film. This time, he is set to share the screen with R. Madhavan, following Ajay Devgn, in a project inspired by the life of India’s renowned barrister, C. Shankaran Nair.
The movie, which revolves around the infamous Jallianwala Bagh massacre, will see Akshay Kumar donning the black coat once more, reminiscent of his role in Jolly LLB 2. The makers announced on Friday that the untitled film is slated to release on March 14, 2025.

Dharma Productions officially revealed the film, sharing a poster on Instagram with the caption, “An untold story, an unheard truth.” Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film boasts a stellar cast including Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in key roles.

The poster hints at the powerful narrative, stating: “Untitled film on the shocking cover-up of a massacre that inspired India’s top barrister, C. Shankaran Nair, to challenge the British Empire.” The movie draws inspiration from real events and is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
Who Was C. Shankaran Nair?
The story focuses on the defamation suit brought by Michael O’Dwyer, the Lieutenant Governor of Punjab during the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, against C. Shankaran Nair. Nair was a prominent lawyer, politician, and reformer, who played a crucial role in India’s freedom movement. Born on July 11, 1857, in Palakkad, Kerala, he is remembered for his courage and dedication to justice.
