Despite the impressive worldwide earnings of Rs 466 crore, Junior NTR‘s comeback film Devara: Part 1 has not met the high audience expectations. The Telugu action-thriller, directed by Koratala Siva and starring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan alongside Junior NTR, received mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike. This film marked Junior NTR’s return to the big screen after nearly two years, following the massive success of RRR, which set new box office records.

In a recent interview, Junior NTR shared his thoughts on the audience’s reaction, stating that viewers have become overly critical of films today. “As an audience, we’ve become too negative, constantly analyzing films instead of enjoying them innocently,” the actor said in his conversation with India Today. He compared the experience to watching movies with children, who enjoy films without judgment or overthinking.

Devara: Part 1, which was released on September 27, has performed well commercially, grossing Rs 253.25 crore at the domestic box office within 12 days. However, it still trails behind other blockbusters like Kalki 2898 AD. Despite its strong earnings, the film’s reception highlights the increasing trend of critical analysis among audiences, a shift that Junior NTR believes is hindering the pure enjoyment of cinema.
