After the massive success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is gearing up for yet another blockbuster with Border 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 1997 war epic Border. The star-studded film will feature a mix of veteran and new-age actors, including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Sunil Shetty’s son, Ahan Shetty.
Diljit Dosanjh Steps into the Shoes of a Real-Life Hero
Diljit Dosanjh, who won hearts with his portrayal of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila in Netflix’s Amar Singh Chamkila, is once again set to play a real-life hero. In Border 2, he will bring to life the story of Flying Officer Nirmal Jeet Singh Sekhon, India’s only Param Vir Chakra awardee from the Indian Air Force.
Sekhon displayed extraordinary bravery during the Indo-Pak war of 1971, single-handedly defending the Srinagar airbase against a Pakistani Air Force attack. Born on 17 July 1943 in Ludhiana, Punjab, the fearless officer laid down his life for the nation at just 26 years of age.

Shooting & Release Details
While Diljit is currently shooting for his Punjabi film Sardarji in Scotland, he is expected to join the Border 2 team in late March or early April. The film, starring Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan, is set for a grand release on 23 January 2026, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations.
With a gripping storyline and a stellar cast, Border 2 promises to be a high-octane war drama that will honor the sacrifices of India’s brave soldiers.
