Luxury Travel Unveils a Shocking Crime
Ranya had traveled to Dubai four times within 15 days, which caught the attention of the authorities. On March 3, she landed in Bengaluru on an Emirates flight from Dubai when officials intercepted her. According to DRI sources, she was found wearing most of the smuggled gold, while some was concealed in her clothing.
Claims of Being an IPS Officer’s Daughter
In a surprising twist, Ranya allegedly claimed to be the daughter of IPS officer Ramachandra Rao, the DGP of the Housing Corporation of Karnataka Police. Reports suggest that she used her claimed connections to get police escorts to her residence. Authorities are now investigating whether she had inside help from law enforcement or other agencies in this smuggling operation.
Actress Sent to 14-Day Custody
Following her arrest, Ranya was taken to the DRI headquarters in Bengaluru for interrogation. Officials are now trying to determine whether she was acting alone or was part of a larger gold smuggling network operating between Dubai and India. She has been remanded in custody for 14 days as the investigation continues.

Ranya Rao, known for her work in the Kannada film industry, has acted alongside superstar Sudeep in the 2014 movie ‘Manikya’. Her arrest has sent shockwaves through the industry, raising concerns about potential criminal connections within the film world.
