As the release date for Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency approaches, controversy surrounding the film continues to escalate. Amid protests from Sikh organizations, a video has gone viral on social media where Kangana is allegedly receiving death threats.

Though the authenticity of the video remains unverified, Kangana has tagged the Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab Police on social media, urging them to take immediate action. The video, shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter), features Sikh youths discussing the film Emergency and issuing threats, including severe warnings about potential violence.

In response, Kangana has shared the video, requesting intervention from law enforcement. The uproar isn’t limited to India; Sikh organizations abroad have also expressed their concerns, with the Sikh Council of Australia warning that the film could strain Hindu-Sikh relations.

Emergency depicts the political turmoil during the Emergency period imposed by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Kangana, who portrays Indira Gandhi in the film, has also taken on the roles of producer and director. As the release date nears on September 6, Kangana has been actively promoting the film.

Adding to the controversy, Kangana’s recent comments on the farmers’ movement have also sparked political unrest, where she claimed that without strong leadership, India could have faced a situation similar to Bangladesh due to the protests.
