The Vasan Bala-directed film Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, has sparked debate following its theatrical release. Along with her role in the film, Alia Bhatt also co-produced Jigra with Karan Johar, making it a much-discussed project prior to its release. However, after hitting the theaters, controversy erupted around the film’s box office performance.

Divya Khosla Slams Alia Bhatt’s Box Office Claims

Actress Divya Khosla, who watched Jigra on Dussehra, took to social media to accuse Alia Bhatt of inflating the film’s box office collection. Sharing a photo from an empty theater at City Mall PV, she wrote, “The theater was completely empty,” and added, “Alia Bhatt has a lot of courage to buy tickets herself and announce fake collections. I’m surprised why the paid media is silent.” Using the hashtag #DontFoolTheAudience, Divya’s remarks gained quick attention.

Karan Johar’s Cryptic Response

Following Divya’s post, Karan Johar responded with a cryptic message on Instagram, seemingly directed at the actress. He wrote, “Silence is the best speech to a fool.” In turn, Divya doubled down, posting her own cryptic reply: “The truth always troubles the fool,” fueling the social media exchange.

Netizens Call ‘Jigra’ a Copy of ‘Savi’

In addition to the box office controversy, Jigra has been compared to the film Savi. Social media users pointed out similarities between Alia Bhatt’s struggle to get her brother, played by Vedang Raina, out of jail in Jigra, and Divya Khosla’s character in Savi, who fights to free her husband from prison.

‘Jigra’ Box Office Figures Under Scrutiny

According to reports from Saccanilk, Jigra earned around Rs 4.55 crore on its opening day and Rs 6 crore on the second day, with a total domestic collection of Rs 11 crore. However, these figures remain unverified, adding fuel to the ongoing debate over the film’s success.

With accusations and cryptic jabs flying, the dispute surrounding Jigra is capturing both media and public attention.
